citizen dog

Finger in a sardine can. A ghost rider that chauffeurs. A granny that reincarnates into a gecko. A teddy bear that smokes. Life that goes literally slow. Sky raining helmets. And a mountain made up of plastic bottles. From the land that brought us Shutter and countless other horror movies comes an utterly quirky, whimsical film for all dreamers alike with several tingles-in-the-heart moments, and made up almost entirely in magic-realism. Male lead is incredibly wooden but yet incredibly endearing.Perhaps, the most beautiful/colourful Thai film ever made. Yes, watch it for happiness.

micro-fiction #03 (An unsympathetic satire)

Traffic is killing me.

Blood pressure: 115/75 mm HG

Got to pick up Josie from school. Buy cabbage. Paper clips and A4 paper for hubby. Food for the dog. Make salad tonight. Check her homework. Iron clothes. Do yoga. Do laundry. How do I get that stain off that dress? Do body scrub. Moisturize hair.

When is this going to let up?

Blood pressure: 126/80 mm HG

Did they like the sweet and sour fish last night? I’m not sure. I think Jo cringed a little. What time is my pedicure appointment tomorrow? Oh yeah and I’ve got to book ballet lessons for Jo. Talk to her violin teacher. Talk to her phonetics teacher. I think hubby needs a new aftershave. Should I enroll her in the three-thirty class or the four-thirty class? Gillette or Old Spice? I’m supposed to rent a movie, what’s the title called again?

The cars are not moving at all.

The Hills Have Eyes. What is he thinking? Jo’s been wanting to watch Finding Nemo.
Probably not. I should pick something classic. Amadeus? Isn’t that something about Mozart? Or is it Beethoven? Either of them will do good for her. If only I can get out of this hell. Is it really stuffy in here or it’s just me? I should turn down the temperature. And I need a cigarette.

It’s moving, but slowly. So STOP honking!

Heart is beating fast. Very fast. But why? Is this what they call an anxiety attack? Hypertension? But I’m not moving. I don’t feel stressed at all. I’m too young for this. It’s our 15th wedding anniversary tomorrow. Must look good. Doctor told me to relax. I’m relaxed. $2.85 for a can of asparagus? If I make a detour to that little grocery store I could have gotten it for $2.70.

Can. Hardly. Breathe.

Blood pressure: 150/90mm HG

Should I get out and scream for help? So many things to do. Mahjong. Spa vouchers. All it takes is will. And composure. Oh God please My Lord Jesus, Buddha, Vishnu, Kuan Yin and Mother Mary. I don’t want to die like this. Must set TiVo for The Bold and The Beautiful. Oh.

Traffic, is killing me.
