I was expecting so much more. The main problem with using The Beatles' songs was that the musical numbers outshone what the rest of the story is about.I rolled my eyes when Dear Prudence and Strawberry Fields Forever came in 'too' conveniently. And most of the songs only fit well when incorporated with the scenes of magic-realism, that happened mainly during the brilliant second half of the film.Strangely, I enjoyed Bono doing 'I Am the Walrus' (3 min cameo) more than the rest of the lacklustre characterizations.Speaking of magic-realism, how come Michel Gondry didn't pick this up instead???
